About
Admission to the Graduate Program in Chemical Engineering (PPGEQ) as a regular student is granted only upon approval in a selective process conducted according to the current Supplementary Regulations (download .pdf 210KB, in portuguese) established by the Graduate Studies Committee (CPG) and widely publicized in the selection notice.
At the discretion of the CPG, annual notices may be issued to select candidates for admission to the master's and/or doctoral programs, subject to the possibility of offering the required courses, the capacity for guidance and availability of topics by the faculty, and the availability of scholarships in the Program.
The notices of selection processes for the master's and/or doctoral programs are as follows:
Beginning-of-the-year notice: regularly issued in November and/or December for admission in March of the following year, defined as beginning-of-the-year admission;
Mid-year notice: issued in June and/or July for admission in the following August, defined as mid-year admission, subject to the availability of scholarships and vacancies.
Extraordinary notice: issued on an exceptional basis and subject to the availability of scholarships and vacancies, upon approval by the CPG.
Continuous flow notice: regularly issued in February and/or March of each year and remaining open until November and/or December of the current year of its issuance. This admission modality is conditioned on the availability of a full scholarship by the candidate or by the PPGEQ faculty that are not part of the Program's quota (for example, FAPESP, CNPq, and CAPES scholarships granted to researchers in individual or thematic projects and scholarships funded by the private or public sector, such as companies or research institutes).
At the discretion of the CPG, students who are approved in a specific selection process for this or students of the Master's program who meet the academic performance criteria defined in the Supplementary Regulations to the current Internal Regulations of the Program (download .pdf 110KB) may be admitted to the Doctoral program without a Master's degree.
The PPGEQ also admits special students, on a semesterly basis, according to the availability of vacancies in each discipline. This admission to the PPGEQ is intended for students who wish to anticipate their studies in the master's and doctoral programs prior to their enrollment in a selective process.
